Black Catholic History at Holy Trinity
Over the past year, a group of parishioners have been researching and publishing articles on the role of slavery, segregation, and race in Holy Trinity’s history. This special bulletin issue highlights excerpts of this important work and profiles on U.S. Black Catholic candidates for sainthood, as well as further invitations to pray and learn. The HT History Team joyfully welcomed Fr. Ray Kemp, Dena Grant, Sybil Williams, and Linda Gray to our parish on November 5 in celebration of Black History Month. Panelists shared reflections about the establishment of Black Catholic churches in DC. HT Committee members Paul Maco and Bernie Cook were also on the panel. Advocacy
Stay up to date on legislative and policy issues by signing up for action alerts from USCCB's Justice for Immigrants, Ignatian Solidarity Network, and Jesuit Refugee Service. Holy Trinity has formed an Advocacy Team to address the root causes of social injustice. If you are interested in learning about local advocacy actions addressing affordable housing, immigration, and climate, please email aklick@holytrinitycatholic.church to be added to the distribution list.

Slavery, Segregation, and Race in Our Parish
We invite Holy Trinity parishioners and others to learn more about the role of slavery, segregation, and race in Holy Trinity’s history. We hope that, in throwing more light on our parish’s past, our work will open doors to reflecting on that past and on its implications for our present, and inspire our daily interactions with others. ADW Department of Life Issues
The Pro-Life Office was established in 1990 to promote a greater respect for human life and to be a catalyst for advocacy, education, evangelization, direct assistance and spiritual efforts on behalf of God’s great gift of human life and human love. The Office of Life Issues continues to advocate for the life and dignity of the human person through the Rally and Mass for Life, partnerships with parishes and community agencies, and legislative action through the Maryland Catholic Conference.
